We are grateful as a presidency to have the opportunity to work with such wonderful sisters in the ward. We are so blessed to be in the greatest woman's organization to ever exist! Relief Society is such a blessing and a guide in our lives and we desire for all of you to be able to take full advantage of the blessings you can receive through it. It is an inspired organization. Even the prophet, Joseph Smith said, "The Church was never perfectly organized until the women were thus organized." The establishment of Relief Society played an important role in the restoration of God's church on the earth. Since it was established in 1842, it has continued to grow and spread throughout countries all over the earth, blessing those from every nation. Heavenly Father has given us the opportunity and responsibility to be a part of that organization, to "...mourn with those that mourn...comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as a witness of God at all times and in all things, and in all places..."
Through the Relief Society Organization you are not only blessing the lives of others, but you will also receive blessings. As you serve others and actively engage in participating in Relief Society your testimony will be strengthened and your knowledge of the gospel enlarged, your talents and gifts will improve and you will discover more talents you didn't know you had, you will become exceptional mothers, wives, sisters, and daughters, you will learn resourcefulness and preparation, and you will especially learn that no matter who you are, you have something to share with others around you that will bless and enrich their lives.
We know that this is an inspired organization. Jesus Christ is at the head of this church. Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today and he leads and guides this church and the Relief Society. We are blessed to have amazing examples to look up to in our General Relief Society Presidency. Joseph Smith said, "Let every man, woman, and child realize the importance of the work, and act as if success depended on [her] individual exertion alone;" What a great blessing and responsibility we have and through Relief Society we can all do our part in Heavenly Father's Plan to bring our brothers and sisters back to Him.
We love you all!
